VARYA DRESS

The Varya Dress is part of the LALULI collection, an exploration of the hidden landscapes of the human psyche. Like a reawakened volcano, the collection draws from dormant memories and emotions, transforming them into vivid colors, textures, and expressive forms.

The dress features an original print created from a hand-drawn illustration by Nika Ravnik, made using wax crayons. The drawing was later enlarged and transferred onto fabric through digital printing, transforming the spontaneous marks into a vibrant textile landscape.

Constructed through intuitive draping and folding, the garment develops organic sculptural textures along the front of the dress. Soft pleats and irregular folds create a rhythmic surface that moves naturally with the body.

The silhouette is relaxed and fluid, balanced by a subtle architectural structure. Short sculptural sleeves frame the shoulders, while the gently opening front adds movement and lightness to the midi-length form. The runway version shown in the images was created specifically for the fashion show and includes a contrasting hem and panel composition.

The made-to-order version is produced in a continuous all-over print, using the pattern as the main visual element without the green-black hem used on the runway sample.

The fabric is 100% Oeko-Tex certified satin cotton, digitally printed with biodegradable water-based dyes. Designed using the zero-waste method, the piece reflects the sustainable philosophy of the Nika Ravnik brand, where artistic experimentation meets responsible production.

Each piece is handcrafted in Slovenia.
