TAIA DRESS

A sculptural dress shaped through geometric folding and fluid draping.

The Taia Dress is part of The Geometry of Feeling collection, where visual art, geometry, and the body intertwine. Constructed from basic geometric planes without conventional cutting, using an origami-inspired technique, the garment evolves into a distinctive three-dimensional silhouette guided by the zero-waste principle.

The cut is entirely non-repeatable, as the dress is created directly on the mannequin without the use of traditional patterns. The shaping process unfolds intuitively through folding, layering, and spatial exploration of the material.

The upper part of the dress forms an architectural composition of folded planes that frame the shoulders and torso, creating a bold sculptural presence. These structured layers gradually transition into a softer, fluid lower silhouette that falls naturally along the body.

The asymmetrical length enhances movement and creates a dynamic balance between structure and flow. Despite its sculptural construction, the dress remains comfortable and adaptable to the body.

The material used is waterproof cotton, selected for its ability to hold form and emphasize the crisp geometry of folds while maintaining lightness and freedom of movement.
Designed in a relaxed silhouette, the garment adapts to different body shapes.

Each piece is one of a kind and handcrafted in Slovenia. The dress is made from deadstock fabric sourced from a textile archive. The Taia Dress reflects the sustainable philosophy of the Nika

Ravnik brand, combining architectural form, experimentation, and respect for material. The waterproof cotton fabric creates a structured sculptural surface and natural texture that may develop soft creases as part of the garment’s character.
