about
Based in Ljubljana, Nika Ravnik approaches fashion through the discipline of construction. Garments begin with simple geometric systems that unfold on the body, often creating transformable pieces that can be worn in multiple ways.
The practice balances conceptual rigour with everyday usability, encouraging a more active relationship between garment and wearer. Working with existing materials, exploring textures, and applying zero-waste principles, sustainability is treated as a practical constraint that informs each stage of making.
Her work has been presented at Milan and Vienna Design Week, and the London Design Festival, as well as in Berlin, Copenhagen, BCEFW – Budapest Central European Fashion Week, and LJFW – Ljubljana Fashion Week. She is the recipient of the LJFW WOW Sustainability Award, SME EnterPRIZE, BIG SEE Fashion Design Award, and has also received recognition from Fashion Council Germany and BIO 50, the Ljubljana Design Biennial.
Ravnik graduated in Fashion and Textile Design from the University of Ljubljana and further honed her skills at Central Saint Martins in London and Designskolen Kolding in Denmark.
